The European Commission decided in early 2025 to ban the use of Bisphenol A (BPA) in food packaging and products, such as plastic drinking glasses, drinking bottles and fresh food containers. This is an important step because BPA has long been associated with health risks.
The new EU regulations are based on insights from organizations such as the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
